87th Annual Reunion, Leeds 5th October 2019
HHOGA 87th ANNUAL REUNION LUNCH
This year's lunch was held in Leeds on Saturday 5th October at the DoubleTree Hilton, Granary Wharf. This was a very good location, adjacent to the station and the Park & Ride bus stop with views over the canal. The company was excellent, the food good and the staff friendly.
We were a very jolly crowd, not large in number but plenty of chat and laughter to make the event enjoyable. The fact that Gwen and I were the only ones from our year did not detract from the occasion. We had very interesting conversations with all the other people on our table and found we had lots of common interests in addition to our time at Hunmanby.
Erica lit the Lamp and led us in the Flame Prayer. She then explained that numbers attending the lunches had been decreasing recently and the Committee suggested that the time was approaching when the Association should be wound up. *Rather than go out with a whimper, their suggestion was that we should make it a 'big bash' on our 90th anniversary in 2022 with a final lunch. Those present agreed, and also agreed to rally all their friends and contacts. So, mark the date, Saturday 24th September 2022 in Leeds, and let everyone know, to make it a really memorable occasion.
* A proposition will be voted on at the 2021 AGM in Leeds.
